Strangely, despite this warning, pmset allows you to set the sleepimage to another volume. I have just tried it for the first time, what happened was that the system turned off, but did not create a sleep image on my 2nd hard disk. I am not sure if by root volume they mean partition or physical disk. It sounds like they mean partition. In any case, I have 2 hard drives in my MacBook Pro and tried to move the sleepimage to the other one, and it didn&#039;t work.</description>
